I told a young woman when she asked me if I was "ready for Christmas".. I told her - "I don't do Christmas"... I'm not a Christian, I respect people for their beliefs, but I think of this time as a window to acknowledge my spiritual belief, and that I'm not absolutely certain I believe in "A" ... "God".... but that I do believe we all have spirits, and that our spirits and those of others are "here"... But that I do not think that we need to have "this" day to show people "with a gift" that we are spiritual people and we honor this or that way of practicing our spirituality. I have wholeheartedly embraced and adopted the concept of re-gifting... when someone admires something I own... I remember them either on their birthday, or the "solstice"... as that is a time of year when I choose to give thanks and express my gratitude to the universe for the blessings I have received.
