… it seems there is a flaw in the mobile bloging – you have a limited number of characters, though i’ll have to wait to count and find out.

So to finish as i intended:

Wishing you all a merry christmas and a happy new year :-)

… well almost. Am now at my mum’s new house, which i’ve not seen before and that she only moved to on tuesday! Unfortunately she won’t be connected to the phone or cable tv till wednesday. So I’m testing out mobile internet services. I’m already used to gmail on my phone but i’ve never tried mobile bloging before. I’m pleasantly impressed.

Well i’m probably not going to post again till i’m back at the internet proper but it’s just reassuring that i’m still connected to the digital world somehow.

Sorry for the dodgy post title, but the flatmate is threatening to buy me Jordan and Peter Andre’s album for Christmas and for some reason this title came to mind (For those not aware of the musical stylings of such angelic voices they reproduced a rendition of the main song from Disney’s Aladin film at their wedding reception).

Anyways, so it’s been the first week of the new job (well it’s now technically the second). And the intial reaction seems to be good so far. More glamorous surroundings, a nice supportive group of people (who can actually help when I’ve technical problems), and less unnecessary stress, oh and a better salary.

I’ve also acquired a digital projector, so we now have a home cinema set up, yay! (though not yay to the dodgy paranormal solider investigation game that the flatmate wants me to play).

Got a rather lovely email forwarded to me today, I usually hate forwards specifically if they say you must pass this on or else your eyes will fall out or something to the effect of that, but this one had a nice ending that said: “You loved the 90’s!! Pass this on and add on anymore that u remember!! Big up the 90’s!! If you don’t pass this on…….fair enough…. it’s a free country “.

Anyways so here’s the email (oh and if you hadn’t already guessed then its a list of all the great things about the 1990s):

How you know you experienced the 90’s:

Isn’t it wonderful having all your music on your computer. Playing iTunes on random it landed on ‘Improv‘ by JJ72. A song, and album, that I haven’t listened to for a very long time perhaps verging on about 5 years. It is an album that is linked with a very dark time for me and its interesting what memories it has invoked and the feelings that it still musters. The chorus of ‘Algeria’ is particularly interesting, sung in a very angry loud and passionate voice it is a philosophy of oblivion:

Spring dies summer arrives,
Summer dies autumn arrives,
Autumn dies winter arrives,
Forever and ever,
Ever and ever,

And a time around 5 to 6 years ago oblivion was a very intriguing and sometimes attractive concept, not in self-destructive way as such; and to be honest is concept that does still crop up from time to time.
