Only 5 days to go… Sunday, 18 Jun 2006

Yay! Only five days to go till I go to Barcelona! YAY! (Do I seem excited??, I hope so). And only six days till my birthday, and only 16 days till I see my friend Karin again. Hoorah
My sister is slowly trying to convince me to quit my job as she says I’m always unhappy and moaning about it. But I’m not too sure. I need to find suitable employment elsewhere first, which pays better. On the subject of paying better I found an advert for what is now my de facto job (i.e. a researcher for an Inner London local authority) with a neighbouring council paying £10,000 pa better, but i found it after it had closed. But it merely proves to me that I’m being exploited, particularly when I now know the company makes £1,000 a month off me and my boss continually gloats about his house in france that he’s doing up (with the money I’m earning him!). How is it that the most ardent socialists end up being the best capitalists?

I’ve been a very naughty boy: yesterday I threw up in the street, how disgusting. At least it was directly into a rubbish bin! That’ll teach me for drinking lots on a very empty stomach on a rather warm day.
In other news I’m thinking more and more about finding another job, the current one isn’t paying brilliantly (its not bad but its not enough for a single person in London) and i’m just getting bored. But at the same time have no idea really what it is I want to do. Oh well, off to bed i suppose.

Oh what fun it is to go back to work after such a lovely weekend. As is hopefully guessable from the title I've had to enjoy two rather joyous meetings today coving a total of three and a half hours. Oh joy! And forgot its a bad idea to go to the bank on monday, i tried twice to queue to see an advisor (its one of those silly banks where they've gotten rid of the cashiers and only have ATMs and advisors and both times queued for 10 mins or so without getting anywhere. So I shall have to try again, tomorrow. Delight!

Having seen an advert for the recent revival of Sondheim's 'Sunday in the Park with George' I thought this would be an apt title given that yesterday myself and my flatmate, The Contstant Salesman, took it upon ourselves to enjoy the fine weather of the first proper day of summer and had an adventure. We did decide to venture to Greenwich Park. It was a rather glorius day and delightful vistas of Docklands and the City were to be had. I also read a bit about China and learnt some more about the place that three of my mates have been/going to, and the next 'great thing' supposedly.
Unfortunately it can't be the weekend everyday (I think that would be better than Christmas everyday, it should permanantley be Sunday) and so I must go to work tomorrow (well in 8 and a half hours) rather than laze around in the park which is infinately more enjoyable than work. In other news I've booked myself a holiday to Barcelona at the end of the month.
